The physician who runs this clinic ran the first hospital in the world certified in functional medicine.
Dr. Jorge Vázquez Parnass has more than 35 years in integrative medicine. From 1999 to 2007 he worked at Sanoviv Medical Institute, and in his last four years there, as Medical Director, he coordinated the process that made Sanoviv the first hospital in the world certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine, in 2006.
He has been an active member of A4M since 2001 and of IFM since 2002. BMC Clinic was built on that way of working: find the root cause before proposing a therapy.
Three disciplines on the same patient, plus the genome almost nobody looks at.
Functional medicine finds the cause, regenerative medicine repairs and anti-aging medicine sustains. None of the three is enough on its own, and the piece almost no wellness clinic touches is genetics and epigenetics: which variants you carry and how they are expressed.
Where we are, precisely
Suite 3170-D, and why it is repeated everywhere on this site.
There is more than one practice at Av. Gral. Ferreira 3170, and on maps the address shows up attached to a different clinic with a different name and a different specialty. BMC Clinic is in suite 3170-D. If you reach the street number and do not see the BMC sign, you are at the right building and you are missing the suite.
- Full address. Av. Gral. Ferreira 3170, suite 3170-D, Col. Madero Sur, 22046 Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
- Not to be confused. BMC Clinic has no relationship with any other clinic at the same street number. The treatments, the medical team and the phone numbers are different.
- When you arrive. Ask for BMC Clinic in suite D. If anything looks off, call us from the door.
Ten therapies, each one with its contraindications written down.
Each page says what the therapy is, what the session is like, and the cases where it is not used. That last part is the one almost nobody publishes, and it is the one that tells you whether your case qualifies before you travel.
- 01 Initial evaluation The consultation everything starts with. No therapy is given without it. First visit
- 02 Advanced diagnostics and patient mapping The studies used to find the cause before any therapy is proposed. Includes genetic panels and food allergy panels. Genetics · laboratory · imaging
- 03 Regenerative medicine Stem cells, exosomes, secretomes and peptides, applied under medical criteria and with a written indication. Stem cells and exosomes
- 04 Hyperbaric oxygen therapy Pressurized oxygen in a multiplace chamber. The therapy with the longest documented clinical record in the clinic. Multiplace chamber · 2 ATA
- 05 IV therapy Infusions formulated on medical indication: NAD+, coenzyme Q10, glutathione, alpha lipoic acid, vitamin C and the Myers cocktail. NAD+, glutathione, vitamin C
- 06 Bioidentical hormone therapy Hormone replacement with molecules identical to the body own, prescribed from lab work and never from symptoms alone. BHRT
- 07 Ozone therapy Medical ozone, systemic or local, in measured doses from a calibrated generator. Medical ozone
- 08 PEMF therapy Pulsed electromagnetic fields applied to one area or to the whole body. Non-invasive and needle-free. Pulsed electromagnetic fields
- 09 Functional nutrition An eating plan built on your lab work and your real routine, not on a printed diet. Nutrition consultation
- 10 Protocol 360 The program that puts several therapies into a single sequence, for patients who travel in with a fixed number of days. Comprehensive program
If you are coming from the United States or Canada, this part saves you a wasted trip.
Tijuana sits against San Diego and you cross by land or through the airport pedestrian bridge. The expensive part is not the trip, it is arriving and finding out your case was never a candidate. That is why the evaluation can happen by video call before you buy a flight.
- Evaluation before the flight. The first consultation can be done remotely. If your case does not apply, you are told then and there and the trip costs you nothing.
- Calendar before you book. With Protocol 360 you get the day-by-day schedule before you buy tickets.
- Same time zone as California. Tijuana runs on Pacific time, so there is no difference with San Diego or Los Angeles.
What people ask before they travel.
Who directs BMC Clinic?
Dr. Jorge Vázquez Parnass, a physician and surgeon from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara with professional license 1367741 and more than 35 years in integrative medicine. From 1999 to 2007 he worked at Sanoviv Medical Institute and was its Medical Director for the last four years, a period in which he coordinated the process that made Sanoviv the first hospital in the world certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine, in 2006. He has been an active member of A4M since 2001 and of IFM since 2002.
What is the difference between functional, regenerative and anti-aging medicine?
Functional medicine looks for the root cause of what you feel, reviewing history, habits, lab work and the body systems as a whole. Regenerative medicine repairs tissue, with stem cells, exosomes and peptides. Anti-aging medicine works on the processes of aging itself: hormones, mitochondria, inflammation. At BMC all three are applied to the same patient and the same plan, because none of the three is enough on its own.
Does BMC Clinic do genetic testing?
Yes. Diagnostics include genetic panels, a food allergy and intolerance panel, cancer markers for screening, ultrasound, imaging studies including MRI, and advanced laboratory work. Not everyone gets all of them: which ones are ordered comes out of your evaluation. Your DNA is not modified; what is studied is which variants you carry and what they mean for your plan.
How long does a treatment plan at BMC Clinic last?
A typical treatment plan runs two to three weeks. For local patients, follow-up is scheduled weekly or every two weeks. If you are travelling in, you get the full calendar before you book flights and lodging.
Do I need a passport to visit BMC Clinic from the United States?
Yes. To return to the United States or Canada you need a valid passport, no exceptions. To enter Mexico for a short stay the visitor procedure done at the crossing is usually enough, but confirm the current requirement with the immigration authority before travelling.
Can I find out whether I am a candidate without travelling to Tijuana?
Yes. The initial evaluation can be done by video call before you buy a flight. If your case is not a candidate for any of the therapies, you are told in that consultation and the trip costs you nothing.
Is BMC Clinic the same as the other clinic at that address?
No. There is another clinic at Av. Gral. Ferreira 3170 with a different name, different owners and a different specialty. BMC Clinic is in suite 3170-D and has no corporate, medical or commercial relationship with it.
Can the team licenses be verified?
Yes. All seven numbers are published on the team page and can be typed into the National Registry of Professionals held by Mexico Ministry of Public Education. Of the seven, one is a registered medical specialty, Dr. Barajas in Traumatology and Orthopedics.
Is the result of a stem cell treatment guaranteed?
No, and be suspicious of anyone who guarantees it. Response to regenerative medicine varies between people. During the evaluation you are told what evidence exists for your specific case and what is still not known.
How many days do I need to stay in Tijuana?
It depends on the therapy. An evaluation is one day. A single therapy, one to three. Hyperbaric or IV series are scheduled across several sessions. Protocol 360 runs five to fifteen days and you get the calendar before you buy tickets.
Do you see patients in English?
Yes. The clinic sees patients in English and Spanish, and this entire site is in both languages.
Is cancer treated at BMC Clinic?
No. The clinic does not treat cancer, and active cancer is a contraindication for the regenerative medicine that is practised here.
